Water for Dogs.------Good weather forecast so took a day trip to Grassington, which is in Upper Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, England. Using public transport. The river is the River Wharfe after which the Dale is named. Grassington was originally in West Yorkshire, transferred to North Yorkshire in 1974. The population in 2011 census was 1126. It is a beautiful village with stunning scenery and a cobbled market square. On my arrival i noticed that there was a 40"s Weekend on. So there were Sand Bags, Flags, and American Army Jeeps and a Tank, about the place. This was part of Events held in Grassington. ---This area is popular with walkers and cyclists.-------------------Grassington is a Dog Friendly place.-------------------------------------------------------------------- On my arrival in Grassington, i noticed at the Bus Stop that there was a bus to Kettlewell. I decided i could fit in a quick trip. I"m glad i did because Kettlewell is a nice little village. Kettlewell is 7 miles from Grassington and in Upper Wharfedale, in a steep narrow part of the Dale. The buildings are grey stone. There are 3 pubs and a Parish Church. There seems to be plenty of Bed and Breakfast places. The weather forecast had been right, sunshine all day. A great day out.
